First Meeting

What to expect:   One of the best predictors of effective therapy is whether there is a good “fit” between the client and therapist. Our first meeting is a chance to see if you feel comfortable with me and my approach to therapy. The beginning of our first session will be spent covering issues such as confidentiality, billing, and the therapy process.

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about my training, experience, or approach. For my part, I want to hear about your particular concerns and needs, to see if I am a good fit for you. If so, then we will schedule additional sessions in which I will ask you some in-depth questions about your background and current concerns and we will formulate treatment goals together.

If you need an area of expertise that I do not have, or a more intensive level of treatment, I will offer you recommendations for other professionals in the area.
