Licensure: I am a licensed psychologist in Maryland (License #3495)

Education:   I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the APA approved program at Colorado State University in 1993. My APA approved doctoral internship was at the Ohio State University from 1992-1993.

Professional Experience:  I have over 20 years of experience as a clinician and educator. Early in my career I was a college professor at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and worked at Family Services of Winona.

From 1998-2006 I was a staff psychologist at the St. Luke Institute in Silver Spring. There I specialized in addictions work, and offered intensive individual and group work,  as well as personality assessment.  Since 2006 I have had a private practice in the Silver Spring area where I offer individual therapy, consultation, workshops and assessments for adults.

Areas of Specialization :  I provide individual therapy to adults with a wide range of concerns including anxiety and depression,  problematic behaviors, difficult personality patterns.  I have extensive experience in working with addictive and compulsive behaviors, particularly in the area of sexual addiction and compulsive use of internet pornography. I frequently work with clients who struggle with mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I have also worked with a number of women and men who are healing from childhood trauma or abuse. Another area of specialization is working with men and women in ministry and religious life addressing some of the special challenges of this life.
